Inventory Management

Deep dive documentation for TFG Info & Tips systems.

Inventory Management

So you've got a few Vessels and you've made a few Wooden Chests, but you still have more items than you know what to do with. What's next?

A Backpack can double your on-person inventory at base level, and further backpack upgrades increase it even more!

Backpacks can carry multiple heavy items without encumbering you, as well as big items like stacks of logs.

You can even upgrade it with a Crafting Upgrade to have a Crafting Table with you everywhere.

Crates

For storage, GregTech has Crates which can hold all the bigger items a backpack can, and different tiers can hold more and more items.

Crates can also have Item Filters and Item Tag Filters put on them if you'd like to make a basic sorting system.

Item Pipes don't pull by themselves though, so you'll need a Chute or Hopper to push into them.

Drums

For storing fluids, GregTech has Drums. These can hold a large amount of a single fluid type, and different tiers hold more, just like with crates.

Unlike crates, drums will retain their fluid when broken, making them ideal for moving fluids around.

Drums can automatically push their fluid out of their bottom face by right-clicking them with a Soft Mallet or Screwdriver.

Place the drum in a crafting grid to clear its contents.

Are you producing an item on an industrial scale? GregTech's Super Chests and Super Tanks can hold a silly amount of a single item type, and can even void any overflow.
