All 16 vanilla Dye Colors can be obtained as items. Most flowers and other colorful plants can be ground into dye using a Quern. Powders of metal ores can be crafted directly into dye. Graphite, Kaolinite, Sylvite, Lapis, Coke, and Charcoal powder can be crafted into dye as well.
Dye Liquids
Dyes can also be made into fluids. A dye item and 1000mB of Water boiled in a Pot produces the same amount of Dye Fluid. Dye fluids are used in Barrels to color items.

Dyeing items in a barrel is cheaper than using items, requiring only 25mB of dyed fluid.

Dye fluids can be used to finish Music Discs.

Dye fluids can even dye leather as if it were crafted!

Five Wood Ash and 1000mB of Water boiled in a Pot produces lye. 25mB of Lye removes the color from a colored item.

- Black Dye is used for Scribing Tables.
- Red Dye is used for Powderkegs.
- Unfired Small Vessels and Large Vessels can be dyed.
